How to Wash your Bumgenius Nappies
We know how exciting it is to receive yummy new nappies – follow these washing instructions to get the best out of your bumGenius nappies and make sure they last and last.
Pre-wash your new nappies before use – you don’t need to use a washing powder. This will make sure they are fully absorbent.
- Store your used nappies in a bucket with a lid – don’t use water or nappy soak.
- Flip any solids off the nappy and into the loo before you put them in your nappy bucket.
- Remove the insert from the nappy and fasten the tabs of the nappy to the laundry tabs on the inside.
- Use a COLD pre-wash with NO powder to help remove any smells.
- Wash at 60 degrees (or lower if you like).
- Use only ¼ to ½ of the amount of detergent normally used.
- Make sure you use a non-bio detergent that does not have perfumes, dyes, whiteners, brighteners or enzymes.
- Do NOT add fabric conditioner, baking soda, bleach or vinegar.
- Make sure all detergent is removed from the nappies – sometimes an extra rinse helps to make sure there is no detergent build up.
- Line dry the outers; the inserts can be tumble dried on medium – but line drying is better.
